The plan
- Repository
- mondeja/mkdocs-include-markdown-plugin
- Base commit
- bec5916 (image tag)
- Issue
- Having several start-end tags in included page Having several start-end tags in included page, results in including only the first appearance. Is it possible to have more than one section included? ```markdown <!--start-tag--> ## Important Content1
- Files to edit
mkdocs_include_markdown_plugin/event.py
- Approach
- Modify the start/end processing logic in `found_include_tag` and `found_include_markdown_tag` to loop through all start-end pairs instead of stopping after the first one. The loop should: 1) Find the next start tag, 2) Find the next end tag after that start, 3) Extract content between them, 4) Continue from after the end tag. This needs to handle the case where an end tag might not exist after a start tag (extract until end of content).

- Finish summary
- Fixed the issue where having several start-end tags in an included page resulted in only the first appearance being included. **Root cause:** The original code used `str.partition()` which only finds the first matching start and end tag pair, discarding any subsequent pairs. **Solution:** Created a new `_process_start_end_pairs()` function in `mkdocs_include_markdown_plugin/event.py` that: - Handles all combinations of start/end tag options (neither, only start, only end, both) - When both start and end tags are specified, loops through ALL start-end pairs in the text, extracting content between each pair - When only an end tag is specified, includes content before the first end tag - When only a start tag is specified, includes content after the first start tag until end of text **Changes made to `mkdocs_include_markdown_plugin/event.py`:** 1. Added `_process_start_end_pairs()` function 2. Modified `found_include_tag()` to use the new function instead of `partition()` 3. Modified `found_include_markdown_tag()` to use the new function instead of `partition()` **Test results:** All 40 tests pass, including the two `multiple-start-end-matchs` tests that were previously failing.
