- String decode in dogwrap **Describe the bug** The parameters `notify_success`, `notify_warning` and `notify_error` cause the `AttributeError` shown below to be thrown when used. ``` Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/bin/dogwrap", line 8, in <module> sys.exit(main())

- Approach
- Remove the unnecessary `.decode()` call on the `notifications` variable in `build_event_body`, or make it safe by only decoding when `notifications` is `bytes`. Looking at the test `test_build_event_body`, the test calls `notifications.decode("utf-8", "replace")` on the bytes before passing it, but the function should handle both bytes and str gracefully. The smallest fix is to only call `.decode()` if `notifications` is of type `bytes`. This matches how `stdout` and `stderr` are already handled in the same function - they use `.decode("utf-8", "replace")` which would also fail if they were already strings, but the test setup passes bytes. The fix should ensure `notifications` is treated the same way: decode if bytes, use as-is if str. The cleanest minimal change is to check the type before decoding.

- Finish summary
- Fixed the `AttributeError: 'str' object has no attribute 'decode'` bug in `datadog/dogshell/wrap.py`. The `build_event_body` function was unconditionally calling `.decode("utf-8", "replace")` on the `notifications` parameter, but in Python 3, command-line arguments like `--notify_error` are already `str` objects. The fix adds a type check using `isinstance(notifications, bytes)` before decoding, so strings pass through unchanged while bytes are still decoded properly.
